Lisa, a Thai rapper and singer, released Moonlit Floor on October 4, 2024, via RCA Records and Lloud as the third single off her upcoming solo album. The chorus of the dance-pop song “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer is interpolated. Lisa performed the song in an unexpected way prior to its official release at the Global Citizen Festival.
In February 2024, Lisa established Lloud, her own artist management firm, after choosing not to extend her contract with her label, YG Entertainment, for personal activities. In April, she then signed with RCA Records to collaborate with Lloud on solo music releases. Her upcoming solo album is scheduled to be published in August. “Moonlit Floor” is the third single from the album, which comes after New Woman, which was followed by Rockstar and New Woman featuring Rosalía, which she released through Lloud in June.
The dance-pop song “Moonlit Floor” is about falling in love. Lisa sings of a “green-eyed, French boy that got me trippin'” and compliments him on his kisses, his silky skin, and the “tricks” his tongue can do. The lyrics “Kiss me beneath the milky twilight/ Lead me out on the moonlit floor” are interpolated into the chorus of the song from the 1998 single “Kiss Me” by American band Sixpence None the Richer. The original lyrics are changed to “Kiss me, under the Paris twilight / Kiss me out on the moonlit floor,” which better fits the plot about a French lover.
