Metro Station – Shake It Ringtone (100% Free Download). The American pop rock group Metro Station‘s song Shake It was released as the third single (and first single in the UK) from their self-titled debut studio album in 2007.

At number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, “Shake It” was the band’s first charting single. “Shake It” reached the top ten of the charts outside of the US in Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, and the UK. On June 13, 2008, the RIAA certified the record as Gold. Later that year, it was certified Platinum. By the end of January 2009, it had achieved 2× Platinum certification. The song has sold more than 4 million copies globally and more than 1.2 million copies in the United States.

In general, music critics gave “Shake It” positive reviews. “Everything about this track – the fairly standard verses, the weedy vocals, the rather tedious lyrics – is passable at best,” said Nick Levine of Digital Spy. With the exception of the chorus, which is large, chanty, and as irresistible as a Krispy Kreme doughnut hanging on a rope in front of your computer.”

Fans took inspiration from the music video for the song “Shake It” and produced their own versions of it; the band shared 63 of these as a playlist online. With opposing dance crews in place of gangs, the band has stated that the finished product was inspired by the cult movie The Warriors. The music video is referred to by MTV as “the musical equivalent of Snakes on a Plane.”

The four band members can be seen entering the Los Angeles Theatre in the footage. After entering the venue, the band plays the song as several dancers vie with one another around the band members. Online personality Jeffree Star and vocalist/guitarist Trace Cyrus’s ex-girlfriend Hanna Beth make brief appearances as spectators while the dancers are performing. The band and everyone else are ejected from the theatre by the police at the end of the video.
