Kesha claims that the song’s lyrics are an accurate representation of both her and her fan base. Blow is primarily an electropop and dance-pop song that conveys the simple idea of wanting to have fun at a club. It is referred to as a party anthem.
Although some critics thought the chorus was boring and uninspired, most reviewed Blow favourably, highlighting the song’s hook, introduction, and party anthem vibe. Reaction to Kesha’s vocal performance in the song was divided; some thought it lacked her personality, while others thought it showed off her sass and bravadness. Commercially, Blow became her sixth consecutive top-ten hit in both countries as a solo artist when it peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 in both Australia and the United States. Chris Marrs Piliero directed the song’s accompanying music video, which was made available on February 25, 2011. James Van Der Beek, an actor, co-stars in the video as Kesha’s adversary. The idea for the video was created by Piliero and Kesha. It’s meant to be straightforward, hip, and arbitrary. Critics gave the video a favourable review, praising the humour in the mid-video dialogue part.
