Canadian singer Justin Bieber recorded the song Love Yourself for his fourth studio album Purpose. On November 9, 2015, the song was released as a promotional single. On December 7, 2015, it was made available as the third official single from the album. Benjamin Levin produced it, while Bieber, Ed Sheeran, and Levin wrote the song.

The main instrumentation of the pop song “Love Yourself” is an electric guitar and a quick burst of trumpets. Bieber utilises a husky tone in the lower registers of the song. The song’s lyrics are an ode to a selfish ex-lover.

The song became Justin Bieber’s third consecutive number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. It spent 24 non-consecutive weeks in the top ten in the US and became Bieber’s first number one on the Adult Contemporary chart. It also spent six weeks at the top in the UK.

In fifteen countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, and Sweden, “Love Yourself” peaked at the top of the charts. Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance were the two Grammy Awards for which “Love Yourself” was nominated. In the US, it was the seventh-best-selling song of 2016.
