James Blunt – 1973 Ringtone Download

1973 is a song by James Blunt, an English musical artist. All the Lost Souls, his second studio album, featured it as the first single when it was released in 2007.

It was first played by James Blunt during his North American tour in the autumn of 2006. It was made available for radio broadcast on 23 July 2007, with a limited distribution to radio stations worldwide. On the same day, it was made available for download only over the Verizon Wireless network in the US. The song was first made generally accessible for digital download on August 7, 2007, and was then made available in physical form on September 3, 2007. At number four on the UK Singles Chart, the single reached its pinnacle.

James Blunt and Mark Batson wrote “1973”. “He was trying to write an English singer-songwriter song, and I was trying the Dr. Dre end of the scale” , Blunt recalls. The club scene in Ibiza, where Blunt resides and enjoys the social atmosphere, served as the inspiration for the song. As part of their Ibiza 2007 Remix Project, Pete Tong and Dave Spoon reworked the song. Tong began spinning the remix in July 2007 while serving as the resident DJ at Pacha, the 1973-opening Ibiza club that served as the song’s inspiration.

James Blunt – 1973 Lyrics
Simona
You’re getting older
Your journey’s been
Etched on your skin

Simona
Wish I had known that
What seemed so strong
Has been and gone

[Chorus:]
I would call you up everyday Saturday night
And we both stayed out ’til the morning light
And we sang, “Here we go again”
And though time goes by
I will always be
In a club with you
In 1973
Singing “Here we go again”

Simona
Wish I was sober
So I could see clearly now
The rain has gone

Simona
I guess it’s over
My memory plays our tune
The same old song

[Chorus x3]

And though time goes by
I will always be
In a club with you
In 1973
