American artists Miley Cyrus and Beyonce have a song called II Most Wanted. The third single from Beyonce’s eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, was released on April 2, 2024 by Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. It features an interpolation of Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide.
Prior to this, Knowles and Cyrus worked together on the charity supergroup Artists Stand Up to Cancer on the song Just Stand Up! The song and the partnership were made public by the artist on March 28, 2024, when she unveiled Cowboy Carter, her studio album. Following the song’s release, Cyrus rushed to Twitter to share her respect for Beyoncé, which only grew as they worked together to create it.
II Most Wanted was written by Beyonce and Cyrus in collaboration with Ryan Tedder and Michael Pollack, and it was produced by Pollack, Jonathan Rado, and Shawn Everett. It is a country and pop rock song. Music critics regarded the song favourably, ranking it as one of the album’s greatest tunes.
Beginning at number ten on the Billboard Global 200, the song became Cyrus’ second top-ten after Flowers and Beyoncè’s third following Break My Soul and Texas Hold ‘Em. II Most Wanted marked Beyoncé’s 23rd and Cyrus’s 13th top ten debuts on the US Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number six. Texas Hold ‘Em and Jolene charted concurrently, and the song became Cowboy Carter’s third top-ten hit. The trio of songs also held the top three spots on the Hot Country Songs, with Beyoncé becoming the first female artist to do so with II Most Wanted coming in second.
One of three Cowboy Carter tracks to land in the top 10 that week, II Most Wanted made its debut at number nine on the UK Singles Chart on April 5, 2024. With Beyoncé’s rendition of Jolene making its simultaneous top-ten debut, Cyrus’s total of UK top 10 singles dropped to nine while Beyoncé’s reached 24.
