Ice Box is the second single released from American singer-songwriter Omarion‘s album, 21. Timbaland produced the song, which also includes uncredited backing vocals. Still Omarion’s highest-charting single in the US, the song peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Along with Denmark, New Zealand, and the UK, Ice Box made it into the top 20. Members of the Royal Court, including King and Sir John of Timbaland’s Camp, are acknowledged in the liner notes for their contributions to the creation.
On November 6, 2006, the song was released, heavily impacted by the breakup of Omarion’s romantic engagement with his fiancée. Omarion says that the timing was off and that he and his fiancée at the time lived in two separate worlds in an interview about the song. Later, an official remix featuring R&B singer Usher was made available. Fabolous contributes a second verse to an alternate version of the remix.
