It was the lead and only single from Petras’s first studio album, Feed the Beast, and it was released on April 21, 2023 by Amigo Records and Republic Records. Dr Luke and Rocco Did It Again! produced the song. In Latvia, Slovakia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, the song peaked at number forty.
Petras first showed her adoration for the rapper in 2011. Early in March 2023, after Petras began leaving comments on Minaj’s Instagram, rumours of a partnership began to circulate. The singer also listed Minaj as a member of her ideal girl group in an interview with Billboard. Petras shared teases of the song to her TikTok account on March 9 and March 15. On April 6, the artist revealed the partnership with Minaj. While lip-synching to Minaj’s portion of the song, she is spotted taking calls. Better Off Alone by Alice Deejay is sampled in the song. Its sound has been classified as dance-oriented.
Arrad was the director of the Alone music video. “The classic early 2000s Europop music videos by artists like Fedde Le Grand and Alex Gaudino served as inspiration,” they said.
