All I Ever Wanted is a Eurodance single by Swedish artist Basshunter, released on June 29, 2008. It appeared on his third studio album, Now You’re Gone – The Album. The song is an English-language reworking of his earlier Swedish track “Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA,” which in turn was built on the melody of the French dance hit “Daddy DJ” by the group of the same name.
The track is known for its upbeat tempo, infectious synth-driven melodies, and processed, vocoder-style vocals. It follows a style typical of late-2000s Eurodance, blending catchy hooks with emotionally charged, simple lyrics. While its predecessor “Now You’re Gone” had already introduced Basshunter to a broader English-speaking audience, All I Ever Wanted helped reinforce his standing in international dance music.
Upon release, the song saw strong chart success. In the UK, it entered the Singles Chart at number three and rose to number two the following week. The music video, directed by Alex Herron, features Norwegian model Aylar Lie and continues the romantic storyline first presented in the video for “Now You’re Gone.” It became popular on YouTube, contributing to the track’s global recognition.
