Hold My Hand is a duet performed by American singer-songwriters Michael Jackson and Akon, released on November 15, 2010, as the lead single from Jackson’s first posthumous album, Michael. The song was originally recorded in December 2007 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Co-writer Claude Kelly initially wrote Hold My Hand with Whitney Houston in mind. However, after collaborating with Akon on material for Houston’s album, Akon decided to record the song himself. During a subsequent session in Las Vegas, Michael Jackson heard the track, expressed his admiration, and contributed his vocals, transforming it into a duet.
