The third single from American rapper Soulja Boy‘s studio album souljaboytellem dot com is Yahhh! (sometimes referred to as “Yahhh Bitch Yahhh”). A fellow rapper, Arab is included in it.
“Yahhh!” is “a spirited ode to the joy of yelling in people’s faces,” according to Stereogum. “Yahh trick yahhhh…uhblablaublabla,” Soulja Boy cries incoherently in what Vice described as a “gibberish filled” tune.
While many listeners dismissed the track as repetitive noise, the lyrics serve as a blunt commentary on the annoyances of sudden stardom. The central phrase “Yahhh!” is presented as a verbal shield to be used when someone is “all in your face” or “on your nerves.” Soulja Boy uses the verses to detail uncomfortable encounters with fans and strangers who interrupt his peace. He complains about people running up to his car or asking for autographs when he is simply trying to live his life or get some rest. His collaborator, Arab, echoes these sentiments by focusing on the “chit-chat” from people who only want to associate with them for their newfound wealth or status.
The music video for “Yahhh!” debuted on Yahoo! Music and BET’s Access Granted on January 8, 2008. The video mocks others attempting to collect Soulja Boy’s autograph, such as Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Duane Chapman, a Hillary Clinton impersonator, and Britney Spears, who seems inebriated. A stop-motion animated puppet also appeared in the video, interacting with the actors.
A brief film of Soulja Boy’s song “Report Card” with Arab and other people dancing to the music at a school plays after the main “Yahhh!” video. After declaring that he “made straight As,” Soulja Boy encourages children to continue their education in the closing moments of the video.
