Harle produced the song. Along with Harle, Parker, Caroline Ailin, and Tobias Jesso Jr., Lipa co-wrote the song. Named for escape artist Harry Houdini, the title Houdini would be formed by rearranging a series of numerals. It also secured Top 10 positions across Canada, Australia, and France, where it spent an impressive 66 weeks on the chart and earned diamond certification.
In the United States, Houdini became a standout dance hit, debuting at number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, marking Lipa’s second career leader on that tally, and entering the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 near the top 15 in its first week.
