Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding – Miracle Ringtone
Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris collaborated with English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding on the song Miracle. On March 10, 2023, Columbia Records and Sony Music UK released it as a single. It’s a trance track produced with piano and synths, with influences from Eurodance and techno.
Both artists has collaborated on two songs before Miracle was released: “I Need Your Love” in 2012 and “Outside” in 2014. Afterwards, Harris texted Goulding to invite her to work with him on Miracle. Harris shared a photo of Goulding and him together in a recording studio on January 12, 2023. Goulding initially sang portions of the song a cappella within St. Bartholomew-the-Great, which both musicians shared on TikTok.
Miracle came with an animated music video for the song. On March 24, 2023, the music video for “Miracle” was released. It featured Goulding surrounded by dancers and lasers while wearing a crown. Before it was formally released on April 14, 2023, Dutch DJ Hardwell’s big room trance remix of “Miracle” was first heard during his headline performance at the Ultra Music Festival in March 2023. On April 21, 2023, Mau P’s house remix of “Miracle” was made available.
At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, the song received a nomination for Best Pop Dance Recording. This was Harris’ first nomination since 2018 and Goulding’s first since 2016. It was also a nominee for Best Song at the 2024 Global Awards and Song of the Year at the 2024 Brit Awards.
The song’s most significant impact was felt on the UK Singles Chart, where it became a record-breaking success. After debuting at number three, it quickly ascended to the summit and remained there for eight non-consecutive weeks. This impressive run tied with “One Kiss” as Calvin Harris’s longest-running UK number one and established a new personal best for Ellie Goulding, surpassing her previous record with “Love Me Like You Do.”
Additionally, Goulding achieved a rare “Chart Double” in April 2023 when Miracle sat at number one simultaneously with her fifth studio album, Higher Than Heaven. The track was equally successful in Ireland, where it also claimed the top spot and remained a staple of the top ten for months.
