American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold‘s song Buried Alive is taken from their fifth studio album, Nightmare. On September 20, 2011, the song was made available as the fourth and last single from the album. Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, the band’s late drummer, wrote the majority of the song’s music before he passed away on December 28, 2009. According to singer M. Shadows, he is really happy of the song.
The band revealed their intentions to create an official music video in September 2011. Rob Zombie was asked to direct the video for Buried Alive but he turned them down because he was working on another project. An animated lyric video was uploaded to YouTube on February 14, 2013, however a music video was never made. The lyric video has had over 100 million views on YouTube as of April 20, 2023.
